Most Haunted? Really, are they sure?

I've been watching this series for a couple of years now. I was channel surfing late one night when I landed on the travel channel and what I saw threw me into a tizzy of excitment. Yvette, Stuart and some other members were standing in some small underground space and Stuart fell backwards over something claiming he was "pushed." I was sold, and tunned in every chance I could. Now after watching several episodes, including the "Live" series, I've really started questioning the validity of their work. The fact that they have a bonified "skeptic, their parapsychologist Ciaran O'Keeffe, keeps me open to thinking maybe some things are staged and maybe some things are real??? I dunno, I'm just so confused. As a devout believer having had personal experience of my own, I do want to believe what they are reporting to be true.

I want to believe people who are in this business are passionate about the field, and stand by their work. If I can take anything from this show (and it's not sound evidence!) it would be a lesson in how to be more skeptical. In fact, calling the show "Most Skeptical" is more fitting.

Now when I watch the episodes, I'm more tuned in to the camera work, placement of hands, feet, people, and how they interact with each other. I've caught people snickering, rolling eyes and even mouthing a cue to begin a fake "attack." It's quite disappointing really. But like I said, it forces me to question things rather then believing what I am seeing. Unfortunately, in this field, seeing is not necessarily believing (especially to a skeptic.)

If any of you tuned in to the 7 hour Most Haunted Live a couple of weeks ago, did you happen to see the part where Karl was supposedly "possessed" and "threw" Stuart over the railing?? The first thing to note is it was not caught while they were "live." After or a before a commercial break, I can't recall which, Yvette reported the event to the host of Most Haunted Live (Mr. Icantrememberhisname.) In my mind, if someone is possessed and throwing someone over a railing, I expected to see something really shocking and unbelievable, and especially more of a fight from the person being tossed. When they finally had the footage, they showed without sound Karl sort of pushing Stuart to the rail and struggling to lift him up and over. Stuart didn't put up much of a fight and just feel over and laid there on the bars linking the catwalks. I rewound the clip several times searching for some clue of certainty, but found none. Logically, it doesn't add up. If I put myself in that place at that time my fist would be swinging, my fingers would be clenched to the railing and my legs would be kicking. But hey, that's just me :-)

Just some foddor for thought.

Without further ado I leave you with some videos I've found on youtube. Judge for yourself:

This one just speaks for itself...

Is Yvette moving the table? Notice how there are lots of "did you hear that" & "look over there, I just saw something." Tricks to redirect ones attention whilst they rig something else?

Listen to Yvette come clean with calling Derek a faker
